Note: Use the following list of Supermarket Mania 2 customer types to help with your game strategy. In between levels, upgrades can be purchased for larger stocking shelves, improve efficiency and help increase efficiency. Certain store locations may also require Nikki to prepare coffee, ice cream or deal with unruly customers. In addition to stocking the shelves, you will need to make sure shopping baskets are available as well as keep the store clean. Each type of customer also has different levels of patience, preferences and shopping speed. Items they are looking for will appear as thought bubbles next to their head. When customers arrive, they will grab a basket and walk around the store. Once full, click on grocery item shelves and stations to add products. To stock the shelves, first get Nikki’s cart loaded up with items by clicking on the inventory room. Nikki’s main task is to keep the store stocked with food, drink and other items that customers would like to purchase. A specific amount of money must be earned in order to move forward in the game. Each level of the game represents a single business day. Game PlayĬonsistent with the first Supermarket Mania game, Nikki will need to run the daily operations of various supermarket locations. This time management game sequel will challenge players with new upgrades, graphics and problems to solve. Or maybe I’m stupid.Nikki’s success with running supermarkets has gotten the attention of her Uncle Ross, who decides to help her to open up her own supermarket in the city of Tinsel Town and other exciting locations. As a matter of fact, I found it difficult to get past the first third of the game until I returned after a harrowing day of working retail at Christmastime. The difficulty level, however is so much higher. Supermarket Management 2 sounds like the same thing, and it is-but it’s really not! The basic premise is the same: keep the stocks shelved so you can keep customers happy and buy upgrades. Or maybe I expect pre-programmed people to have common sense.Įither way, this game runs very smoothly and is very addictive. The biggest annoyance, albeit slightly realistic, is the mother who continues to lose her child and stands there looking stupid rather than walking around to look for him. This fairly simple game is filled with day-to-day annoyances that might happen to the typical retail/customer service employee. The floor sweeper upgrade is by far my favourite, as it creeped me out the first time the “automatic” upgrade was used. The security camera to help prevent theft does nothing, but I appreciated GLaDOS’ pretty face looking over the customers. ![]() There are some pretty cool upgrades you can “buy” throughout the game, some of which do more than others. Notice the sparkly trail behind the Dalek. The biggest thing to happen in the game are the moves to new locations and the occasional visits from spoiled celebrities who throws fits when their temper fizzes out. They’re just overly competitive about selling basic necessities to people, which confused me even more. Anyone who watches television wouldn’t be surprised at the competition slant, one that ended up confusing me because the characters in the game aren’t actually on a show in the game’s script. It’s actually hard not to do poorly at this. I recommend this to very young children who love time management. The least disappointing of the two was Supermarket Mania 2. They look the same from the outside both are second instalments of very easy-sounding games and feature peppy, blonde protagonists. ![]() They came free (big surprise) from Gamehouse, so, being the time management fiend that I am, I decided to try them. This review is a long time coming because I had to muster up the courage to actually admit to playing these games.
